What we do
Find out about the vital work that we do within Save the Family to help repair broken lives
Social Enterprise - our Jam Plan!
Save the Family has a unique social enterprise scheme.
Our Jam Plan!
We encourage our families to get involved to gain skills which they can use when they move back into the community.
One of our most sucessful social enterprise schemes is our Jam Plan, this is where the adults can get involved and join in the the cooking process. These Jams and Chutneys are then sold to the local community. Currently the Jams are sold at the Grosvenor Garden Centre in Chester.
We are contantly looking for new places to stock our Jams and Chutneys, if you are a company which would like to stock our produce please call the number below.
Our Jam Plan is so special because:
1. 100% of monies raised are generated are reinvested back into the charity;
2. Provides education, training and future employment opportunities for homeless families. Every parent is trained and qualified in Health and Hygiene
3. Enables the charity to become financially more self sufficient
Social Enterprise: A social enterprise is a business that exists with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners www.socialenterprise.org.uk
If you have any fruit and vegetables which you cannot make use of we would be delighted to use it in our recipes for our Jams and Chutneys.
Up Days Down Days
Save the Family also have our own photographic book titled 'Up Days and Down Days'.
The book was put together by Catriona Buckett and was produced in collaboration with the mums and dads who live in our homeless community. The images show the journey that the families have taken with Save the Family.
If you would like a copy please call us on the number below. The books are priced at £10 each.
