Learn about the ethos of Save the Family and why we feel that keeping the Family together is so important

Did you know if your family is made homeless, that your local authority has a legal commitment to ensure your children are safe which could mean your children are taken into care. Save the Family avoids this by keeping homeless families together.

- Save The Family keeps homeless families together.

- We are the largest Homeless Families charity in the UK.

- We are the only charity to keep families together.

- We can save you, the taxpayer, money.

- Save The Family is based in North Wales and provides homes in a village community for up to twenty four families.

The recession is biting hard.  Families who cannot afford to pay mortgages or rents are finding themselves homeless. The 'Buy to Let Boom' has left many families, even those in full but low paid employment, finding it impossible to repay high mortgage repayments and sometimes even higher rents.

Lives can be smashed apart, innocent children may well face a life of social exclusion with no example of "normal family life". A perpetual cycle of 'no job/no home/ no hope' can  begin with all its attendant, social and costly problems. Many of the people we support come from the poorest 10% of Britains neighborhoods already struggling with coping mechanisms.

Frightening!!

A lot of caring, socially responsible parents are losing their children through no fault of their own. Save the Family is the only charity that houses, retrains and gives whole families  the necessary emotional and practical support to help them move on.

Why create more pressure on the Care System for what is a Housing issue?

For each child in care it costs us the taxpayer £50,000 per year

We can house Mum, Dad and two children, give them the skills to resettle in the community AND not become homeless again for just £30,000 per year.

We make sense!
